Lucy Hale To Star In A New 'Riverdale' Spin-Off Titled 'Katy Keene!'

Fans of Riverdale and those of Pretty Little Liars have just received some great news! It looks like the fanbases may just come together since it has been announced that Lucy Hale was cast in a Riverdale Spin-off that is still in the making, titled Katy Keene! Congrats to the Pretty Little Liars alum!

Reportedly, the actress has received the titular lead role too!

Furthermore, the Riverdale spin-off is apparently a musical and follows the lives of four classic Archie Comics young adult characters living and trying to make their dreams a reality in New York City.

The CW show’s pilot was ordered back in January, and it looks like it got the green light!

As for Hale’s character, Katy, she aspires to become a fashion designer while dealing with her personal life drama, friendships, and romance!

Earlier today, the actress took to social media to share the big news!

‘Well I am slightly freaking out! Thank you @archiecomics / @writerras / @thecw / @warnerbrostv / @thatthingofwhen for trusting me to be your KATY KEENE. my heart is bursting,’ she announced, seemingly very excited to start her new journey!

This series means Hale is back on CW after her turn in the network’s series Life Sentence.

But perhaps, she is best known for playing Aria Montgomery on the beloved teen show, Pretty Little Liars.

Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, as well as Michael Grassi, are the ones who took it upon themselves to create Katy Keene!
