Mary-Kate Olsen’s divorce from Olivier Sarkozy is already getting messy. In an emergency affidavit that she filed this week (divorce applications are not currently being granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Olsen argued that her divorce was “an essential matter” because Sarkozy terminated her lease without telling her.

She claims to be afraid of losing her personal property, but the judge denied her request. Even though Olson is concerned about her apartment and property, her multi-million dollar fortune should be safe because of her “ironclad prenup.”

According to Us Weekly, the money Olsen has made over the years from her acting work as child star, her Dualstar entertainment business, and her fashion brands are all safe because of her prenuptial agreement.

“Her business interests and fortune are protected,” claims an insider.

Olsen is the owner and operator of The Row, which is a couture clothing line that the 33-year-old started in 2006 with her twin sister Ashley. The sisters also own the fashion label Elizabeth and James.

Even though Mary-Kate hasn’t acted since the 2011 film Beastly, she still has a significant fortune from her career as a child actor on Full House and the series of home videos/DVDs she and Ashley made in the 1990s.

In 2017, Mary-Kate was on the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 All-Star Alumni list, and she and Ashley are reportedly worth about $500 million.

Mary-Kate Olsen signed a Summons and Complaint for divorce from Sarkozy on April 17, and she submitted the emergency affidavit on Wednesday. The COVID-19 pandemic is making things difficult. and she will have to wait to officially end her marriage to the 50-year-old French banker when the courts open back up.

Mary-Kate claims that Sarkozy is forcing her out of her New York City apartment by May 18 because of the lease termination. She asked for an extension until May 30, but was denied. The designer is apparently concerned about moving in the middle of the lockdown.
