Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are now officially President and Vice President of the United States, respectively, and reports are saying that their inauguration is ‘very personal’ for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry! Here’s why!

Apparently, the former royal couple has ‘great admiration’ for the new leaders and their families and are really excited for a new beginning and hopefully a better future in the USA!

Besides, it was really a history making day since America got its first woman and first person of color ever to take on the VP position and Harry and Meghan were really happy to witness it.

One source told HollywoodLife that ‘The inauguration is very personal for Meghan and Harry. Harry has been friends with Joe and Jill [Biden] for years and Meghan has such a huge amount of respect for them and Kamala Harris.’

They went on to explain that ‘It’s just a monumental moment in history — watching the very first female VP getting sworn in will for sure be emotional for Meghan. She is happy beyond words about it. Meghan’s always been so passionate about women’s rights and it was her mom that instilled it in her, so being able to watch this huge milestone moment with her mom’s huge. It is a day she has been waiting for.’

Sure enough, Meghan herself has expressed her joy over Harris being nominated for VP while chatting with Gloria Steinem this past summer.

‘I’m so excited to see that sort of representation. For me, growing up biracial, whether it was a doll or person in office, you just need to see somebody who looks like you in some capacity. As many believe, you can only be whatever you can see. And in the absence of it, how can you aspire to anything greater than what you see in your world?’ Meghan argued at the time.
