This past week Meghan Markle’s Instagram account miraculously re-appeared because of a “system glitch” on the app, and for a few hours, fans got a glimpse of the former actress’ pre-Royal life. However, the newly-activated account showed that the last photo Markle shared was in April 2016, which means it was missing pics from the time period when she started dating Prince Harry later that year.
Fans who followed her at the time remember that Markle dropped a few hints about her budding romance, but they were nowhere to be seen when her account resurfaced.
Just spent an hour of my life – at 2am mind you – scrolling through every photo Meghan Markle posted on Instagram before she became a freaking princess. I have zero regrets. Not one. pic.twitter.com/ReSyD21pq3

Markle actually shared pics with her fans up until she and Harry went public with their relationship in November 2016, and she eventually deleted the account after their engagement announcement late last year. Before she was one of the most famous Royals on the planet, Markle regularly shared photos of her dogs, her travel experiences, and other life details with more than 3 million followers.
In the summer of 2016, she also teased her love story with Prince Harry, but we didn’t realize it until much later.
According to Us Weekly, Markle started texting Prince Harry in June 2016 when she was in London, and the couple went on their first date the following month. At the same time, she posted a pic from London of a bouquet of peonies, her favorite flower.
“Swooning over these. #London #peonies #spoiledrotten,” wrote Markle in the caption.
She must have fallen hard and fast because not long after the flower pic, she posted a photo of a candy heart reading “Kiss Me,” with the caption “lovehearts in #London.” And, when she left London, she wrote that she was “gutted to be leaving.”
Just a couple of months later, in September, the former Suits actress posted a pic of herself wearing a bracelet that Harry gave her, and at the same time, he was spotted wearing a matching one.
By the end of 2016, Markle was posting pics of her dog Guy wearing a British flag sweater, just one month before she met Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte.

Once it became clear that Markle was going to be a member of the Royal family, she shut down all of her personal social media accounts, as well as her lifestyle blog The Tig. Kensington Palace explained back in January that Markle hadn’t been using the accounts “for some time,” so she decided to close them.
Now, if fans want to see cute pics of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they prepare to welcome their first child, they can check out at Kensington Palace’s Instagram.
