Meghan Markle has reportedly scored an invite to the upcoming Met Gala in May, and the Duchess of Sussex will use the star-studded event as her debut into post-royal life. After guest-editing British Vogue’s September issue last year, Markle will attend the event with the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful.
According to The Daily Mail, the former Suits actress is expected to wear a “glamorous androgynous” look for the biggest night in fashion, as this year’s theme is based on Virginia Woolfe’s Orlando that features the main character changing their sex.

“The Met Gala is for the Who’s Who of show business,” explained an insider. “Naturally, Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together. Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”
The annual fundraiser for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has become the hottest ticket in Hollywood in recent years, and the celebrities who manage to get an invitation always make statements with incredible outfits.
This year’s Met Gala takes place on May 4th, and this will apparently be Markle’s first big “Hollywood” public appearance after she and Prince Harry officially step down from their royal duties on March 31st.
In addition to the Met Gala, Markle is also trying to break back into acting. However, this time around she is interested in Hollywood blockbusters instead of roles on basic cable dramas. The 38-year-old actress is “planning a series of meetings in Hollywood,” according to an insider. Now that she has done some voice-over work for Disney, Markle is looking for a superhero film, either as a voice-over or on-screen.

Markle’s agent, Nick Collins from the Gersh Agency, is already entertaining multiple offers, says the source.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and their ten-month-old son Archie Harrison are currently living in a $10 million mansion on Vancouver Island in Canada. However, the couple is reportedly house hunting in California for a summer home.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will wrap up their royal duties in the coming days, and they will reunite with Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, and Kate Middleton for Commonwealth Day on March 9th.
