Meghan Markle's Maternity Wardrobe Reportedly Cost $500,000!

Ever since Meghan Markle announced her pregnancy back in October, she has made multiple public appearances in incredible maternity outfits. But, if expectant mothers want to copy her style, they are going to need a lot of cash to make it happen. According to a new report, Markle’s maternity wardrobe cost more than a half million dollars.

Fashion search engine Love the Sales claims that the total cost of Markle’s wardrobe – which consists of about 75 outfits – is $632,000, seven times higher than Kate Middleton’s.

Markle wore her most expensive look to the Geographic Society Awards in October. It was a bespoke Oscar de la Renta dress that was covered in laser-cut birds that cost $13,200. However, she did sometimes go budget-friendly. The former Suits actress wore a $35 knit H&M maternity dress in January.

That dress sold out in 24 hours and was one of the looks that benefited from the “Meghan Maternity Effect.” Later, the dress showed up on eBay with a price of nearly $200. And, the Veja V-10 sneakers that Markle wore in October, which retail for $150, saw searches spike more than 300 percent.

However, that was nothing compared to the 5,800 percent spike that Australian designer Karen Gee enjoyed when Markle wore the “Blessed” dress from her brand. And, Outland Denim’s sales skyrocketed 2,300 percent, all because of Markle.

Royal protocol dictates that members of the family do not accept free clothing. However, it is Prince Charles who is paying for Markle’s maternity look, not Markle or British taxpayers.

Last month, Markle had a baby shower in New York City that included celebrity guests like Gayle King, Amal Clooney, Markus Anderson, and Jessica Mulroney. But fans noticed that one of Markle’s closest friends was absent – Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

This – along with Markle’s failure to show up for Chopra-Jonas’ wedding – led to rumors that the longtime besties had a falling out, but insiders say the two women are still very close and talk often.

“All the rumors that Priyanka and Meghan Markle aren’t friends anymore are totally not true,” a source told E! News. “Priyanka and Meghan are still very close friends, and they talk frequently. Meghan confides in Priyanka about the adjustments she has to make with being a royal.”
