Meghan McCain called the police out for yet another killing after the tragic death of Rayshard Brooks. During the latest episode of The View, the conservative made it very clear that she’s had drunk experiences while out and about as well but, obviously, it’s never resulted in her getting shot and killed!
That being said, McCain demanded that the police get better training for ‘de-escalation tactics’ instead of always resorting to murdering unarmed people when that should be the last resort and only if their lives are in actual danger!
As you probably know, Rayshard was shot multiple times in the back while trying to escape an arrest.
He was most likely inebriated which is why he probably acted irrationally so the extreme measures from the police were definitely not needed.
Rayshard was reported to having been sleeping in his car while at a Wendy’s drive-thru and the cops who showed up suspected it was a DUI case – in other words, not a crime deserving of a death sentence!
That being said, it sounds like Meghan McCain agrees!
During the show yesterday, she gave her opinion on the latest instance of police brutality, saying that: ‘I think we need to focus on training de-escalation for the police department. That seems to be a huge issue here. This case is so sad because he wasn’t armed and he was in his car. He was running away. I hope this doesn’t sound trite, but I’ve certainly been drunk at a Wendy’s before — and I wasn’t shot.’
‘I think we need to focus on the specific form of training of de-escalating [for police], instead of militarizing and escalating,’ she added.
The victim had offered to just walk home when talking to the cops and Meghan stressed that he was only trying to do the right thing, which was, of course, not drive his car while under the influence.
