Metallica Has Been Used As Psychological Torture And Now A Woman Used Their Music To Ward Off A Cougar Attack

Metallica fans were shocked and awed when they learned the U.S. military used a select group of music groups, including Metallica, to inflict psychological torture on Iraqi prisoners (Barney and Friends, Sesame Street, and Britney Spears also made the list). Not only is Metallica useful for breaking down suspected terrorists’ wills, but in a new case coming out of Canada, Metallica helped save a woman from a potential, deadly cougar attack.

Current Metallica band members include James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo. None have issued a public statement about the current report.

According to Global News Canada, a Vancouver woman, Dee Gallant, 45, was hiking in South Duncan on July 23, 2019, accompanied by her dog Murphy. As she continued her hike, she had the feeling she was being followed, then noticed the cougar behind her. The situation grew intense as she felt the cougar was actually stalking her and Murphy.

Once she realized she was in danger, she began screaming at the cougar. She reported to the outlet that her screams stopped the cougar from moving, but it stood its ground rather than retreated.

After trying several other methods to make the cougar go away, she decided to play loud music in hopes it would scare the cougar away. That was when she took out her phone and blasted Metallica’s song “Don’t Tread On Me.”

She chose the song because it was very loud and she hoped that it would scare the cougar away.

The plan worked.

According to the report, it didn’t take much for the cougar to head in the opposite direction, apparently disinterested in hearing one of the most popular heavy metal bands of all time.

Dee stated the following to the publication.

“I stopped filming, went to my iTunes and found Metallica‘s “Don’t Tread on Me.” I thought it was perfect because it gives him the message that I want to send, and it’s a really intimidating-sounding song. I immediately put it on and I held it up high in the air. As soon as he heard the first note, he bolted. He was just gone.”
