Michael Jackson Will Get A New Documentary In The Same Vein As R. Kelly

Michael Jackson’s estate came out in defense of the performer after it was revealed a new documentary based on Jackson’s supposed treatment of children was on its way. As most know, Jackson was involved in an intensely publicized court battle, charges for which he was inevitably exonerated.

People Magazine reported that the new movie, Leaving Neverland, is about to appear at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival on the 25th of January, and it follows the story of two men, who claim to have made friends with Jackson when they were between the ages of 7 and 10.

The two individuals, who were boys at the time of their relationship with Michael, claim they had been “sexually abused” and “manipulated” by the performer. Even though the two men’s identities weren’t featured in the documentary, reports claim Wade Robson and James Safechuck “testified under the oath” that the singer never touched them inappropriately, insinuating it was both Wade and James in the flick.

The statement released by Michael’s estate said it’s just another “outrageous and pathetic” attempt to make money off Michael’s long line of success and influence. It added that both men testified that Michael never did anything with them sexual.

Moreover, the statement released claimed the two individuals had filed lawsuits against his estate for millions of dollars, and both cases were thrown out by the court. Describing the two men as “masters of deception,” the King Of Pop’s estate claimed their allegations are just more discredited accusations.

Thus far, neither men have confirmed or disproved that it was the two of them in the documentary. Recently, Deadline revealed that both HBO and the United Kingdom’s popular Channel 4 intend to air the documentary shortly after it’s debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

Reportedly, the new documentary revolving around Michael Jackson has a lot to do with those against R. Kelly, which has made significant waves in recent weeks. While many in the past were quick to defend R. Kelly, performers such as John Legend and Chrissy Teigen no longer do so.

Other performers to hit out at Kelly include acclaimed rapper, Joyner Lucas, and Chance The Rapper, in addition to Columbus Short, and many others.
