Michelle Obama Gushes Over Her And Barack's 'Intelligent And Independent' Daughters Malia And Sasha - Says They ‘Couldn’t Be More Different’

Sasha and Malia Obama make their parents very proud. That being said, former First Lady Michelle Obama did not hesitate to gush over her and former President Barack’s two daughters.

During a brand new interview, she praised her offspring for being really independent and intelligent but also very different from one another.

While chatting with British Vogue, Michelle explained their differences in detail but did not forget to mention the things they do have in common – Malia, 21 and, Sasha, 18, are both really intelligent and independent girls.

‘Malia and Sasha couldn’t be more different. One shares her innermost feelings, the other’s content to let you figure it all out. Neither approach is worse or better, because they have both grown into really smart, compassionate and independent young women, capable of paving their own paths,’ Michelle shared.

While she made these differences clear, the former FLOTUS did not reveal which is which.

It does seem like Malia is the more outspoken out of the Obama sisters, however.

After all, she was once caught on camera smoking and the very next day wore a ‘smoking kills’ shirt in response to the headlines she made. Savage!

Michelle went on to talk about their independence, explaining why that might have happened: ‘Try as we [moms] might, there is only so much we can control. And, boy, have I tried – especially at first. Mothers, we just do not want anything or anybody to hurt our babies. But life has different plans. Bruised knees, bumpy roads, broken hearts, they are part of the deal. What has both humbled and heartened me is seeing the resiliency of my daughters.’

In other words, Michelle learned to let go of her tendency to control every aspect of her daughters’ lives and just let them grow and mature freely.
