Michelle Williams Is Engaged And Expecting A Baby With Her Fosse/Verdon Director Thomas Kail

Michelle Williams has a lot to look forward to in the new year. The Emmy-winning actress is reportedly engaged to her Fosse/Verdon director Thomas Kail, and the couple is also expecting their first child together!

According to People Magazine, it was Williams’ 14-year-old daughter Matilda – who she shared with the late Heath Ledger – who “played matchmaker” for Williams and Kail. The two worked together in the drama Fosse/Verdon, as she was the lead actress and he was the director and producer. Williams ended up winning an Emmy for her performance.

Kail is not only an accomplished TV director and producer who has also won an Emmy for directing Grease: Live, but he is also the Tony Award-winning director of the Broadway smash hit Hamilton.

Williams has always kept her personal life extremely private. But, after she lost Ledger in 2008, she has opened up from time-to-time about finding love again. The four-time Oscar nominee told Vanity Fair last year that she doesn’t really like to talk about it, but she hasn’t given up on love.

“I never gave up on love,” said the 39-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum. “I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’”

She added that she does talk about finding love again every now and then because it could possibly help someone who has struggled as much as she has, and looked as much as she has looked. Williams also advised people to never settle for something that feels like a prison, is hard, or hurts you.

“If it doesn’t feel like love, it’s not love,” said Williams.

Cameras recently caught Williams and Kail together in London where she is currently filming Venom 2. She was also spotted at Seraphine’s maternity boutique in Kensington during a shopping trip for baby clothes.

The news of Williams’ engagement and second pregnancy comes just eight months after she split from her husband Phil Elverum in April. They secretly wed in July 2018 in the Adirondacks. Since Ledger’s death, Williams has also been linked to Jason Segel, director Spike Jonze, and author Johnathan Safran Foer.
