Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino just started his eight-month prison sentence, and his wife, Lauren Pesce, plans to be there when he gets out. As Sorrentino prepared to turn himself over to New York’s Federal Correctional Institution on Tuesday, Pesce shared a heartfelt note on Instagram in support of her husband.
“Strongest man I know,” Pesce shared next to a photo of Sorrentino. “Love you honeys, see you soon.”
Sorrentino was charged with tax evasion in 2014 and plead guilty to the indictment last January. A judge sentenced him to eight months in prison in October. Sorrentino’s brother, Marc, was also charged.

While driving to the prison, Sorrentino shared a video on Instagram, telling fans his thoughts as he prepared to surrender his freedom. Although he was facing significant time behind bars, Sorrentino put a positive spin on the situation.
“I’m just gonna handle this and put this behind me and move forward,” he stated. “The comeback is always greater than the setback.”
Sorrentino and Pesce dated for years before finally exchanging vows this past November. According to Us Magazine, the Jersey Shore star opened up about his looming prison sentence days after the ceremony.
The reality star revealed that he was not worried about spending time away from his family. He also admitted that he does not have a plan on how to deal with living eight months behind bars and hopes that the time will pass quickly.
Shortly after posting his last Instagram video, several of Sorrentino’s co-stars expressed their support for him on social media. This includes Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, who both sent their love to Sorrentino.

Several Jersey Shore stars were also present when Sorrentino was sentenced last fall. Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Deena Cortese, Angelina Pivarnick and Vinny Guadagnino attended the sentencing.
Although he still has eight months to serve, at least Mike Sorrentino has plenty of support from family and friends. It is also good to hear that he has a positive outlook on the experience, which should help him get through the grind.
MTV has not announced a new season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation.
