Miley Cyrus Admits She Has 'No Idea' What The COVID-19 Pandemic Is Like Because She Is A Wealthy Celebrity

Miley Cyrus has been hosting a talk show on Instagram Live called Bright Minded while in quarantine at her Los Angeles home. In a recent interview – when she was asked how she books her guests – the singer admitted that she is in a “unique position” during the Covid-19 pandemic and her experience during the past two months hasn’t been the same as most others around the world.

“My life has been pushed pause on, but really I have no idea what this pandemic is like. I am comfortable in my space and able to put food on my table and [I am] financially stable, and that’s just not the story for a lot of people,” Cyrus told WSJ Magazine.

The 27-year-old explained that some of her fellow celebrities have turned her down or not responded at all when she has asked them to be on her show, and she believes that could be because they don’t want to show off their privileged experience.

Cyrus says that she’s sure there is hesitation when it comes to saying “yes” to doing her show because it “almost doesn’t feel right for celebrities to share our experience because it just doesn’t compare.”

The Hannah Montana alum revealed that she communicates with her fellow celebrities via Instagram DMs, and that’s how she’s “gotten things done for years.” Cyrus says that she realized she should just send a message to another celebrity like Reese Witherspoon, even though she probably won’t answer.

However, Witherspoon did answer and told her that she would love to give her “a couple minutes.” There are also those who completely ignore her. Cyrus explained that she will get a message that her request had been “seen,” but there isn’t a response. She says that she guesses that is a “no,” and then she will send that person a smiley face emoji ten days in a row.

Still, Miley Cyrus says that the “door is always open” to those celebrities who haven’t responded to her. She says that she is sure some of the people she has been reaching out to feel the same way she does, which is that her experience is so rare that it almost doesn’t feel right to talk about it.
