When Miranda Lambert married NYC cop Brendan McLoughlin earlier this year, she became a stepmom to his newborn son, Landon. And recently, cameras caught Lambert on mommy duty as the newlyweds took the infant to a doctor’s appointment in the Big Apple.
The 35-year-old country star and her new husband – who got married in January after dating for just two months – both wore pink to the appointment, as he carried the baby in a car seat with a blanket covering him up.

Just days before Lambert and McLoughlin met in November 2018, his ex Kaihla Rettinger gave birth to Landon. This baby was quite the shock to McLoughlin’s ex-fiancee, soccer star Jackie Bruno, who called off her engagement to McLoughlin when she found out that he was cheating with Rettinger and had gotten her pregnant.
To make matters worse, Jackie’s mother Carol claims that McLoughlin named his son after his ex-fiancee’s soccer idol.
“Oh well, you know my daughter was a soccer player and that Landon Donovan was her idol right? Well, you know what he named his kid right? Landon,” Carol Bruno told In Touch Weekly. “Yup. That’s pretty sick. He named his son after Jackie’s idol. I don’t think the baby mama knows that. That was always her idol and she and Brendan had discussed that they would possibly name a future child Landon. That is sick. OK, I really unleashed now didn’t I?”
Lambert has opened up about life as a stepmom, saying during an interview earlier this year that her “stepson is amazing,” and this new journey in her life is “great.” Lambert didn’t have any kids during her four-year marriage to Blake Shelton, so this is her first experience with motherhood.

McLoughlin recently took a leave of absence from his job as an officer with the NYPD. Meanwhile, Lambert is touring around the US, and she is getting ready to release her new album Wildcard.
The new album is a follow-up to 2016’s The Weight of These Wings and will feature the songs It All Comes Out In The Wash, Locomotive, Mess With MyHead, and Bluebird.
Wildcard will be available for download (and also in stores) on November 1st.
