Auli’i Cravalho, the young actress who voiced none other than the character of Moana in the animated film with the same name loved the experience a lot and as it turns out, she would not mind playing the character again in a potential live action adaptation. During a new interview with HollywoodLife, Auli’i Cravalho gushed over the project, sharing just how ‘proud [she was] of the work [she] did with the film.’
With that being said, of course she would revisit the role! And that remains the same if it’s a live-action version of it as well!
The young 19 year old actress and singer got the role of the titular character back in 2016 and the movie was so beloved and critically acclaimed that it even got nominated at the Oscars!
Ever since, Auli’i has been on the rise as far as her career is concerned.
But since lately, animated movies have been getting their live-action remakes, one by one, she can’t help but think the same will one day happen with Moana.
Therefore when that day comes, Auli’i would love to take on the role again.
When asked about it by HollywoodLife, she replied: ‘A live action Moana! Would I consider doing it? [I don’t] think I have gotten that one before. [I’m] so proud of the work that I did with the film. The film came out when I was sixteen and I am nineteen now. I would be more than happy to see someone else play that role, and if it were to fall to me I would do my absolute best as possible.’
Obviously, she would love to pay Moana again but the actress made it clear that just being part of the future live-action project in any form or capacity would be great, joking that: ‘If I got to do Hei Hei, if I couldn’t get Moana that would be totally fine, just cast me as the chicken!’
