Model Karen Elson Admits She Had “Traumatizing Experience” With Ryan Adams As Misconduct Claims Against Singer Grow

Model and musician Karen Elson can be added to the list of women speaking out against Ryan Adams for his treatment towards them. Elson revealed one day after The New York Times a story with allegations of harassment and misconduct towards Adams that she had a “traumatizing experience” when working with him.

The 40-year-old used social media to show her support for all the women who have been brave enough to speak out against Adams.

“I also had a traumatizing experience with Ryan Adams. While I’m not quite brave enough yet to speak about my specifics. I’m encouraged that many women have bonded and helped each other heal. This is the power of sisterhood and I’m very grateful for these women. I hope all those speaking out are given the grace and dignity they deserve. The trauma that lingers is often a very powerful silencer of women as is the business that enables these men to thrive without ever facing consequences,” she wrote in an Instagram post and in Instagram stories.

Elson was the opening act for Adams on several of his tour dates during the summer of 2017. She initially reacted to allegations against him when The New York Times story first broke but did not indicate she too was a victim. Instead, the musician chose to show her support for all the woman speaking out, including Adams ex-wife Mandy Moore who called him “controlling” and detailed how he derailed her career during their marriage. Elson also asked that others be to the courageous souls coming forward.

Hours after her Instagram post-revelation regarding Adams, the model once again took to social media, except this time it was to share all the ways love would not manifest itself. It was Valentine’s Day message dedicated to encouraging people to show self-love and stay away from all the toxic situations that do not bring love. Sadly, Elson, she went through a bitter divorce with ex-husband rocker Jack White that included her taking out a restraining order against him for harassment.

The allegations of harassment and abuse are mounting for singer Ryan Adams. He used Twitter to apologize for his “past mistakes,” while maintaining that the article about him was not only upsetting but also inaccurate. Adams has not yet responded to model Karen Elson sharing that she too had a harrowing experience with the singer.
