Mo'Nique Threatens To “Punch” Steve Harvey During Discussion Of Her Being Blackballed In Hollywood

A sit-down interview between Steve Harvey and Mo’Nique escalated to the point of threatened violence. The topic that caused so much drama between the two was Mo’Nique being blackballed in Hollywood.

Harvey invited his long-time friend to have a candid talk with him on The Steve Harvey Show. He thought they could get real about some of the headlines each other has made throughout the years. Not all of the media attention has been good, and Harvey was not about to let the bad stuff slide.

Mo’Nique and Harvey conversed about race, forgiveness and being blackballed in Hollywood. The latter is something that the female comedian feels very strongly about, and she did not hold back in thoughts.

She decided to confront Harvey regarding some hurtful words about her. According to her, she was blackballed because she said no to some very influential people in Hollywood, Oprah and Lee Daniels were both on her list.

“The difficulty came in when people that looked like me – like Oprah, Tyler, Lee and I got to put my brother Steve on the list—you all knew I was not wrong. Each one of you said to me, ‘Monique you are not wrong’ and when I heard you go on the air and you said, ‘My sister burnt too many bridges and there’s nothing I can do for her now,’ Steve do you know how hurt I was?” she asked the talk show host.

Harvey proceeded to explain his side of things. Although he supported her choices, there are things she did that he thought were not done properly. The comedian did apologize for not privately calling her before speaking out about her situation in Hollywood.

They continued to hash out the topic throughout the interview.  Mo’Nique got so upset that at one point she threatened to punch Harvey. She didn’t nor did she slap him as many reports have indicated.

Despite the heated drama Mo’Nique and Steve Harvey were both able to calm down and have a discussion. She even said she never indented for it to be a confrontation but rather a conversation. The two spent the entire hour talking about her being blackballed.

They definitely do not agree with the way things went down, but they have come to terms with how they each handled the situation.
