This Thursday, Mossimo Giannulli, the husband of Lori Loughlin, began his prison sentence for his role in the college admissions scandal in which he and his wife had been accused of paying off officials in exchange for their two daughters to be admitted into the school.
As most know, this comes not long after Lori began her prison sentence as well. Regarding Mossimo, Page Six says the 57-year-old fashion designer went to the Federal Correctional Institution in Lompoc, California, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed his arrival.
Mossimo began his five-month sentence on Thursday for his role in the scandal. Followers of the case know he received slightly more severe punishment, including bigger fines, more community service hours, and a longer sentence behind bars.
Thus far, it’s not clear when Giannulli will get out, but it’s been estimated that he’ll be released sometime in the spring of 2021. The fashion designer was in the headlines this week not only for the beginning of his sentence but also for his shaved head.
Mossimo showed up to the prison with a bald head, and it’s not entirely clear why, but some sources claim it was to look “hardened.” Giannulli has to pay a $250,000 fine and perform the same number of hours of community service once he has been released.
As it was previously reported, Lori and Mossimo pled guilty to several different types of fraud after they were busted by federal agents. Lori and Mossimo’s reputation was called into question after they were accused of paying Rick Singer $500,000 to have their daughters recruited into a Californian university as crew team recruits.
Lori and Mossimo aren’t the only celebrities to be involved in the case either. Earlier this year, Felicity Huffman served a very short prison sentence after she was charged with paying a bribe in exchange for a college official to correct her child’s examination score.
Felicity was in prison for just 10 days, where she was spotted wearing an orange jumpsuit by the paparazzi. Martha Stewart famously poked fun at Felicity and said she looked a little “frumpy.”
