NBC Unveils Fall 2019/20 TV Schedule Did You Favorite Show Make The Cut?

NBC unveiled their fall 2019/20 television schedule earlier today. There are a few unexpected changes and some interesting questions, as fans prepare to say goodbye to shows they loved and embrace new ones.

It was a busy day for NBC at their upfront presentation. Hot on the heels of the This Is Us three-season renewal, comes the news Steve Harvey is out as the host of Little Big Shots, and Melissa McCarthy is in. One Chicago fans were happy all three shows would remain intact on Wednesday night, but there are some favorite shows noticeably absent from the fall schedule.

Manifest, Brooklyn Nine-Nineand Will & Grace, have been pushed back to mid-season premiere, but network executives tell Deadline the move is strategic. Each show can run in its entirety without any interruptions, which will hopefully be more pleasing to fans.

Otherwise, NBC has gone with the if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it method, only picking up a handful of new shows for the upcoming season.

There is very little change, with NBC holding a slew of new shows for mid-season after Sunday Night Football is over. The Village, AP Bio, The Abby and The Enemy Within are still awaiting their fate for next year. All are still airing and had mid-season premiere dates this year, so a final decision could still be a couple of weeks away.

Since some of NBC’s show do a short season, anywhere from 10-13 episodes, it allows them to have more variety during the spring. Good Girls, for example, has been renewed for season three, to premiere next March with 13 episodes. The format is similar to the first two seasons of the breakout hit.

As usual, this is NBC’s fall plan as of now. The network could make changes throughout summer leading into the new season.
