NeNe Leakes Updates Fans On Husband Gregg's Health And Their Relationship

There is no doubt that NeNe Leakes has been living her best life! The star was in attendance at the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies’ Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon and she was all smiles! After all, she had a very good reason to be beaming at the event – the RHOA star received the ‘Woman of Achievement’ award for her cancer advocacy.

During an interview with ET on the red carpet, NeNe gushed over the honor, saying: ‘I could not believe that said, ‘NeNe Leakes,’ OK?  Like, what are you saying about me? It means a lot to me. As you know, my husband was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer and since then, we’ve been all over this whole cancer thing, since it was so devastating to our family.’

She went on to update fans on her husband Gregg’s progress, sharing the great news that, while it’s still not sure he is ‘free of cancer,’ he is doing much better these days.

And that was not all! NeNe also assured everyone that their marriage is doing great as well, after she previously admitted to considering filing for divorce from him.

As it turns out, the man’s battle with cancer had put a huge strain on their relationship.

‘Now, there are people who do not understand what a caretaker role is, or they just didn’t understand I was frustrated. ‘Why are you frustrated? You are not the one with cancer!’ But I was frustrated because I was the caretaker, and being a caretaker is hard. It is one of the roles, where you do not get any shine for that. You just be a caretaker and shut up!’
