HBO just released the first cast portraits for Season 8 of Game of Thrones. The photos feature all of our favorite characters and tease a few potential storylines as the hit fantasy drama reaches a dramatic end this spring.

Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) posing together were among the first images in the cast portraits. The Stark sisters look a battle ready as ever, and Turner revealed that Sansa is getting used to leading people at Winterfell, despite all the challenges it brings.

Arya, on the other hand, is struggling between staying with her family and tackling the rest of the names on her list.

While Cersei (Lena Headey) posed by herself for the portraits, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) were featured standing together.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Dinklage told fans that Tyrion is still trying to discover his own identity this season while Coster-Waldau hinted at a major fallout between Jaime and Cersei.

“He’s choosing to do what he believes is right,” the actor shared.

As far as Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) are concerned, the two look more in love than ever before. In fact, Harington teased that Jon’s love for Daenerys will help him get through the coming battle with the White Walkers – at least until a “sledgehammer” comes along and ruins everything.

It is unclear what Harington meant by the comment, but he could be alluding to the massive battle at Winterfell this season. The battle sequence was the show’s longest and most grueling to date, taking close to three weeks of evening shots to complete.

While the actors found the battle conditions harsh and unyielding, it is expected to be one of the major highlights next season and could set a new precedent for television, much like the Battle of the Bastards did last season.
