Nicole Richie Dishes Motherhood And Being A Total PTA Mom At Kids School

Nicole Richie is dishing all about motherhood, even admitting she is a total PTA mom at her kids’ school.

The former wild child has traded in her over the top antics for family life. She has been married to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden since 2010. They are the proud parents of daughter, Harlow age 11 and son Sparrow, age 10.

Even though Richie wears many hats, including designer, TV personality, Hollywood socialite, and entrepreneur, the most important one is mom. She spoke with People magazine regarding skipping New York Fashion week so she could be with her kids at the beginning of their back to school season.

“I’m flying out right after this. I’ve got first week of school stuff to attend to. I volunteer there. I’m all in,” Richie explained to the magazine at the launch of her #NicoleXCapsuleChix collection with Moose Toys in New York City last night.

The entire Madden family had a fun and relaxing summer break, but it is time to get back to school. Richie is ready to get back into the “swing of things” but also revealed it can be a hectic time of year.

“I’m flying home to Los Angeles to put my mommy shoes on,” The Simple Life alum joked to the magazine.

One thing the proud mama swears by to help eliminate some of the chaos is meal prepping. She insists it has changed her life and is an advocate for people adding it into their busy lifestyle.

Richie grew up in the spotlight thanks to her famous father singer Lionel Richie. She and Madden are raising their kids out of the spotlight. It is crucial to the couple their children be normal kids, which is why neither shares photos of their babies on social media.

“They’re busy being kids,” the mama bear says of keeping her kids off social media.

Nicole Richie has come a long way since her spoiled, destructive, Hollywood socialite ways. She has traded in drunken antics for school PTA meeting, and the House of Harlow founder would not have it any other way.

She is all about family these days. Richie is thankful she has a large family where her kids are surrounded by love. Along with a famous father, Richie is an older sister to Scott Disick’s girlfriend Sofia Richie, and sister in law to Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz.
