Oprah Winfrey Is Well Aware There Will Be Backlash Over Interview With Michael Jackson Accusers

Oprah Winfrey is well aware there will be consequences! The TV personality admitted that she knows there will be a lot of hate and criticism directed at her for conducting an interview with Michael Jackson’s accusers from the After Neverland documentary.

As you may know, Oprah is set to have a chat with two men who claim the late legend sexually abused them as kids, no older than 10, and 7 years old, respectively.

The show was shot on Wednesday at New York Times Center and she reportedly told the people in the audience that she was ready to be in hot water for accepting to conduct the interview.

Variety reports that she stated: ‘I’m gonna get it.’

However, she went on to argue that no matter how angry Michael Jackson fans would be, the topic of sexual violence is way too important to ignore.

Oprah explained to the crowd that consisted of no less than a hundred survivors of abuse that ‘This movie transcends Michael Jackson. It allows us to see societal corruption.’

Variety also shared that Oprah made it clear she believes James Safechuck and Wade Robson – the men accusing Jackson – are telling the truth.

Aside from the alleged victims who joined her on stage, in attendance was also Dan Reed, the documentary’s director.

The interview is set to air on March 4.

During the taping, Oprah also warned everyone to ‘Beware of people who just want to be around your children.’

Previously, Michael Jackson’s family slammed Leaving Neverland and begged everyone to let the pop legend rest in peace.

A joint statement from the Jacksons read in part that ‘This so-called ‘documentary’ is just another rehash of dated and discredited allegations. It’s baffling why any credible filmmaker would involve himself with this project.’
