Oscars 2019 Hit A Lot Of High Notes And Here Is Why

The 2019 Oscars which took place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles wrapped up, and the full list of winners has been revealed and is creating a lot of buzz on social media because of the major surprises.

The 2019 Academy Awards did not have a host after the Kevin Hart drama and viewers cannot decide if they love or hate this new concept. However, ratings were up compared to 2018, they increased 12 percent in total viewers and 13 percent in the demo.

Some love the long list of celebrities who took the stage to present awards with no hosting bits in between, while others claim a funny and talented host is needed for the biggest night in Hollywood.

After all was said and done Black Panther took home four awards and tied Bohemian Rhapsody. Both Green Book (including the award for Best Picture) and Roma ended up winning three awards.

There were some major upsets during the awards show that include Green Book winning for Best Picture and Glenn Close losing the award for Best Actress to The Favourite‘s Olivia Colman who stole the show with her bubbly character.

And Best Supporting Actress going to Regina King while Rami Malek won Lead Actor for his role in Bohemian Rhapsody and delivered a stellar acceptance speech.
