The comedian was all set to entertain a crowd at Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport, Connecticut. However, before he got the chance to hit the stage, Davidson chose to abandon the performance.

What pushed him to the brink was comments made by the club owner, Vinnie Brand, regarding Davidson’s ex-girlfriends.

Brand made a joke about the two of Davidson’s famous former girlfriends, Kate Beckinsale, and Ariana Grande. Before the show began, Davidson’s security guards explicitly stated the two women should not be mentioned during the comedy gig at all, even by audience members.

Davidson heard Brand end his set by saying “‘don’t ask about Ariana or Kate.” He felt disrespected, so he left. The Saturday Night Live star used Instagram Stories to share the news with his fans he would not be making them laugh that evening.

“Hey guys in Connecticut, I’m sorry that we had to leave the show before I got to go on. The owner, Vinnie Brand, disrespected me and did something that I told him not to do,” Davidson said in one video.

He also let those who bought tickets know he was going to do a free show for them next week. Davidson did not go into deals regarding the rescheduled comedy show, but it will be somewhere near Bridgeport, so all ticket holders can attend.

The 25-year-old ended his messages by stating there was no way he could do his routine under the circumstances surrounding Brand’s words.

“Sorry again. This is not your fault,” the comedian expressed to his followers.

TMZ has obtained video footage of Brand sharing his side of the story. He insists Davidson’s security guards told him to tell the audience not to bring up Beckinsdale or Grande, which he did.

“No way in the world would I ever disrespect any comedian and Pete Davidson, I didn’t disrespect you. Your security guy told me to say what I said. And if you got that security guy, you should have fired your security guy,” Brand can be heard saying to the crow explaining why Davidson bailed on the gig.
