Pete Davidson Is Making His Fans Sign A $1 Million NDA To See His Stand-Up Show

Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson does not want fans leaking jokes from his stand-up routine, so now he has decided to force everyone with tickets to his comedy show to sign a $1 million non-disclosure agreement if they want to get inside.

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Davidson is the latest comic to take extreme measures to prevent leaks of his act, and the NDA happened for the first time at his November 27th show at the Sydney Goldstein Theater in San Francisco.

One of the ticket holders from that event posted on Facebook that Davidson’s team sent out an email a few hours before the show to let people know that if they wanted to get inside the venue, they had to sign the agreement. If they refused, they wouldn’t be allowed inside and they wouldn’t get a refund.

The email appeared to be a last-minute decision because it was full of errors.

“Any patron who is unable or unwilling to sign the agreement will not be allowed to enter and will be giving [sic] a full refund. Save time at the venue tonight by printing, signing, and brining [sic] this agreement with you!” read the email.

When fans purchased their tickets, they were told that all recording devices were prohibited, and audience members would have to put all of their electronic devices in Yondr pouches.

In the NDA – which a fan posted on social media – it says that anyone who attends Davidson’s show can’t give interviews, offer opinions or critiques, or “participate by any means or in any form” in the disclosure of confidential information. This includes, but is not limited to, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, or other social media websites.

Under the terms of the agreement, anyone who breaks the rules must pay Davidson $1 million.

While many other comedians have prohibited recording devices at their shows so they can save material for a special on television, Netflix, or other platforms, Davidson seems to be the first to ban his fans from talking about the show and giving their opinion.

According to Variety, Davidson’s team confirmed that he used the NDA again on November 30th for his performance at the Vic Theater in Chicago.

Next year, Pete Davidson will star in the biopic King of Staten Island – which tells the story of his childhood and how he lost his father on September 11, 2001. The film is scheduled to be released on June 19, 2020. The comedian is also currently dating model Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford.
