Pete Davidson was once again part of the SNL segment ‘Weekend Update,’ and he brought fellow comedian John Mulaney to talk about Clint Eastwood’s new film The Mule, a production they were both big fans of, seemingly! But while discussing the movie, Pete also offered his audience his usual dark and self-deprecating humor, going as far as to joke about his public suicide note.

As you may remember, last month, Pete scared a lot of fans and close friends when he took to social media to say that he did not want to live anymore and that he was barely holding on for those who love him.

During the segment, Mulaney talked about his friendship with Pete, saying: ‘I’ve been spending time with Pete to try to show him that you can have a life in comedy that is not insane. A sober, domestic life.’

‘Yeah, and after observing John’s life, I publicly threatened suicide. I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t make that joke,’ Pete responded.

That is definitely a very sensitive topic and very difficult to joke about but Pete’s fans are already used to the young comedian using his personal life in his comedy, just like he’s been doing during his relationship with Ariana Grande as well as after they broke their engagement.

Speaking of, Pete sort of managed to not mention the singer once during the segment, something he acknowledged himself at the very end, therefore mentioning Ariana after all – for the laughs, of course!

Anyway, the rest of the video, Davidson and Mulaney started breaking down The Mule’s plot and their take on it was just hilarious.
