Say what you will about President Donald Trump and Melania, but many agree that the First Lady dazzles. In the newly released Christmas portrait, the couple looked statuesque while surrounded by festive, lit Christmas trees that were decked out in red ornaments.
Flotus shared the photo on her official Twitter account where it went viral and received more than 65,000 likes. Christmas is alive and well at the White House or as Melania likes to point out the “People’s House.”
Last Christmas, President Trump made a point to bring the words “Merry Christmas” back to D.C. and the nation and many have followed suit. It seems not many are afraid of being politically incorrect by uttering the words as they were. Merry Christmas is as common heard these days as Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays.
There is no question the Trumps have brought many changes to the White House.
The photo captured the couple in the White House’s Cross Hall standing with the grand doors behind them. It was the same hall where they posed for the 2017 Christmas photo. This is the second Christmas the Trumps will spend in the White House.
Andrea Hanks is credited as taking the Christmas portrait.

In addition to Twitter, Melania shared the photo on Instagram where it had an even greater reach and drew more than 200,000 likes in less than five hours.
While the majority of comments were favorable, there were a few detractors who had only negative things to say.
One commenter said the couple looked as if they were ready for their mugshots. Another commented on the way they were holding hand and referenced the couple’s awkward inaugural ball dance.
For the most part; however, people were pleasant, said they looked beautiful and wished the Trumps a Merry Christmas.
The couple’s only child together, son Barron, was not in the Christmas portrait. The Trumps have gone to great lengths to protect and shield Barron from the spotlight and he rarely makes an appearance with his famous parents.
Melania Trump selected a red and white decorating scheme for the Christmas trees and not everyone approves of the look.
