The United States is beginning to see its Coronavirus death toll soar each day and now President Donald Trump announced on Saturday, April 4, 2020, to brace for a ‘lot of deaths’ in the coming weeks. The Coronavirus is ravaging the country and nearly 90 percent of all people are on a lockdown. The deadly disease showed up in China around December and many people believed it wouldn’t make its way to American shores. Not only is the disease in the country, but it is now in every state with New York City being the epicenter. At the latest tallies, New York has seen 3,565 deaths. Speaking to the nation in his Coronavirus tasks force meeting, President Trump opened with a sober warning to expect many deaths this week. There are more than 8,000 deaths as of Saturday, April 4, 2020, and though people are self-isolating, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of the U.S. flattening the curve just yet. There are more than 311,000 confirmed cases of Coronavirus currently.
“It’s believed that China hasn’t been truthful with their Coronavirus case numbers, including their death toll. It is unclear exactly how many people have died in China and without that information, it becomes more difficult to tell how the virus works. President Trump stated the following during the press conference.
“This will probably be the toughest week — between this week and next week. There will be a lot of death, unfortunately. But a lot less death than if this wasn’t done.”

If there was anything positive said during the press conference it was spoken by Dr. Anthony Fauci who said he believes the social distancing applies enacted nationwide are starting to make a difference in the number of cases that are being spread. Still, the United States leads the world in confirmed Coronavirus cases and the death toll is continually rising.
Exactly what Donald Trump thinks the death toll will be in the upcoming week or weeks he hasn’t said. He also revealed that though he wanted to try and get people back to work in April, he will keep the lockdown initiates until the end of April.
