As you may know, Prince Philip was involved in a car crash, and one woman was injured as a result. Now, the 97-year-old royal is apologizing for causing her harm.
The accident that had Prince Philip crashing into Emma Fairweather’s car ended with the woman breaking her wrist in the process.
Meanwhile, another woman that was in the same vehicle scraped her knees while, fortunately, the 9 month old baby in the backseat was not injured.
Fairweather gave an interview to the Sunday Mirror, telling the news outlet that she was ‘upset’ Prince Philip had not even said sorry for two days after the whole thing took place because of him.
‘It has been such a traumatic and painful time, and I would have expected more of the Royal Family. I love the royals but I’ve been ignored and rejected, and I’m in a lot of pain. It would mean the world to me if Prince Philip said sorry, but I have no idea if he’s sorry at all,’ she said.
Earlier today, he finally typed and released an apology letter himself, as per Mirror.
In part, the regretful message reads: ‘I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at Babingley cross-roads. The sun was shining low over the main road. In normal conditions, I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dershingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the other car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences.’
But despite getting the apology she wished to hear, the injured woman argued that it was an ‘overcast’ so the sun could not have blinded him.
Prince Philip apologized again in his letter and wished Fairweather a speedy recovery.
