According to a window washer who witnessed the incident on the morning of May 29, a group of unknown people smashed flower decorations near buildings on Sloan Street. “Members of a society destroyed it. They were like animals. They just destroyed everything. It was like a riot,” said a witness to the incident.

It is noted at the same time that although the pants were pulled off the mannequins standing in front of the Hackett store, for example, the images of Elizabeth II herself on the street remained untouched. Floral arrangements took part in the traditional Royal Flower Show in Chelsea. In particular, the entrance group of the Hackett store was called “A Love Letter to the Queen.” It cost about £10,000 and won an award in one of the competitions at a prestigious flower show.
