In the London Borough of Chelsea, vandals completely destroyed the flower arrangements on the buildings on Sloan Street, created on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. This is reported by the Daily Mail.
According to a window washer who witnessed the incident on the morning of May 29, a group of unknown people smashed flower decorations near buildings on Sloan Street. “Members of a society destroyed it. They were like animals. They just destroyed everything. It was like a riot,” said a witness to the incident.
It is noted at the same time that although the pants were pulled off the mannequins standing in front of the Hackett store, for example, the images of Elizabeth II herself on the street remained untouched. Floral arrangements took part in the traditional Royal Flower Show in Chelsea. In particular, the entrance group of the Hackett store was called “A Love Letter to the Queen.” It cost about £10,000 and won an award in one of the competitions at a prestigious flower show.
It was previously reported that Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 coronation dress would be exhibited at Windsor Castle.
The dress of Elizabeth II, in which she was crowned in 1953, will be exhibited at Windsor Castle in honor of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of her reign. This is reported by the Daily Mail.
Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation dress, designed by designer Norman Hartnell, will be on display in London from July 7 to September 26. Made of white satin and adorned with diamonds, amethysts, and pearls, it will be on display at Windsor Castle. The main symbols of Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries are embroidered in gold on it, ranging from English roses to the Irish shamrock and Scottish thistle.
