R. Kelly, the R & B singer who was just charged with 10 different sex crimes, was recently bailed out of jail when an unknown and unnamed benefactor paid the $161,000 he owed in child support.

A representative from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department indicated that the singer was released this Saturday afternoon. The Associated Press was the first to report the news.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the longtime music legend was taken into custody following a failure to pay back child support bills to his ex-wife. R. Kelly owes money to Drea Kelly and he was apprehended earlier in the week.

R. Kelly and his ex currently have three children together, Robert, Jay, and Joann, who are 17, 19, and 21 respectively. The 52-year-old is in more trouble following the police’s charges against him of sexual abuse from approximately four accusers.

Three of which were underage at the time. Kelly spent just one weekend in jail before a business owner in Chicago finally came to his aid and posted the $100,000 bail. Interestingly, the police came after R. Kelly for the unpaid child support payments around the same time as the uproar over the allegations.

In an interview with Gayle King on CBS, the star dished on what was going on his life, stating that the Lifetime docu-series was making falsehoods on his name and reputation. At one point in the interview, Mr. Kelly even stood up and said he was fighting for his right to live.

R. Kelly said that he is being assassinated by all of the 50 people in the docu-series. The program apparently detailed a plethora of transgressions of the singer, sleeping with underage girls being one of them, and allegedly using his influence in the scene to create a “sex cult.”

Interestingly, other women have come to the singer’s defense, like Jocelyn Savage, one of the original girls involved in BuzzFeed’s report. Allegations against R. Kelly have been numerous, including holding women in his home against their will, however, none of this has been proven.

Savage even released a video on YouTube around the same time as the controversy and defended the R & B crooner. She said that she was staying on her own volition and nobody was being forced to do anything.
