R. Kelly's Finances "Are A Mess" Says His Lawyer Steven Greenberg

The R & B singer, R. Kelly, was released from the Cook County jail on Monday night after someone close to him posted the bond following his sexual abuse case. As it was reported earlier, R. Kelly, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Three of the girls were minors during the time at which the incidents occurred between the span of 2010 and 1998. His bond was posted at approximately $1,000,000, $250,000,000 for each accuser, and he was in jail for three days until his release today.

To get out of the jail cell, the singer had to cough up approximately $100,000. He was only able to post 10% of the amount because his “finances are a mess” claims his lawyer, Steven Greenberg.

Greenberg claimed that Kelly was someone who should be wealthy but due to mismanagement and other problems, including bad contracts and deals, he doesn’t have much money. Probably shocking news for most people, considering the fact Kelly has been a massive artist for almost thirty years.

According to reports, a 47-year-old woman was the one to post the bond in Kelly’s case, describing herself as a “friend” of his in court documents obtained by multiple outlets. Just a few hours earlier, Kelly was in Cook County jail before eventually standing in court with his attorney where he pleaded not guilty to all charges.

R. Kelly is being charged for soliciting an underage girl for sexual abuse, as well as a year-long sexual relationship with a girl that he met when she was 16-years-old. Moreover, he also tried to force a woman to give him oral sex when he was free on bail in the middle of his 2008 child sex case.

Additionally, he allegedly videotaped himself having sex with an underaged girl in the late 1990s. For many years, R. Kelly has been involved in multiple allegations, even being exonerated in 2008 in his child pornography case because the court couldn’t prove it was him in the videotape.

Michael Avenatti, most known for representing Stormy Daniels, claims to have given the tape to the court which will play a significant part in the upcoming trial.
