R. Kelly's Manager Slapped With Federal Charges For Allegedly Threatening A Movie Theater Owner Who Screened Surviving R. Kelly

On Friday, R. Kelly‘s manager was taken into police custody for allegedly threatening a Manhattan theater owner regarding its content. Page Six says the theater was screening Surviving R. Kelly from Lifetime.

On the 4th of December, 2018, the 45-year-old man, Donnell Russell, allegedly called the NeueHouse Theater and claimed there was someone in the audience who planned to kill everyone inside the venue.

According to court documents, Donnell made the call to the establishment at the same time as guests’ arrival to see Surviving R. Kelly, the project that ultimately facilitated the former R&B singer’s downfall in the music industry.

The theater owners had to cancel it due to the threat and every audience member was subsequently evacuated. The shooting never happened. Reportedly, Kelly, Russell, and another man worked on a statement together in which they described the R&B singer as a victim.

The complaint explained that Kelly was being maliciously attacked by women he used to love and former employees for financial gain and notoriety.

Audrey Strauss, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, claimed the shooting successfully deterred the screening from ever taking place there. Strauss also says a number of R. Kelly’s alleged victims were present for the docu-series’ opening.

As it was previously reported, R. Kelly and his alleged accomplices have been in the headlines repeatedly this week. It was claimed earlier this month that three men close to the accused R&B singer were arrested on intimidation, harassing, and stalking charges.

One man reportedly set a victim’s car on fire while another offered $500,000 in exchange for their silence. Michael Williams, Richard Arline Junior, and Russell were all charged with trying to threaten, corrupt, intimidate, and harass victims to influence the outcome of the singer’s trial in a Brooklyn federal court.

Followers of the case know federal and state governments have charged Kelly with a plethora of very serious charges, for instance, racketeering, sex-trafficking, coercion, and more. All of the charges are in connection to claims from six women and underaged girls.
