Diehard fans would love to see Rachel McAdams in her iconic Mean Girls role again and it turns out that she’s not against reprising it either if the opportunity arises! During a live stream, the actress opened up about her Regina George character and revealing that she would love to play it again even after 15 years, was sure to make a lot of people happy.
After portraying the leader of the Plastics back in 2004, Rachel McAdams shot to fame and while she’s taken on some equally iconic roles in other movies since then, a lot of people still associate her with the role of Regina George.
While on the Heroes of Health: COVID-19 Stream-a-thon, Rachel revealed that ‘It would be so fun to play Regina George later in her life and just see where life took her!’
But is such a project in discussions these days? As it turns out, the idea has only come up ‘in joking…not quite seriously.’

When asked if she had any idea Mean Girls would become such a classic, Rachel had an inspirational, positive message to share, unlike her mean character.
‘It’s been 15 years of Regina George… did you know that [that movie] would have a long lasting impression on people, and shaped to a large degree pop culture and society?’ Virgin radio host J Stevens wondered.
‘Let’s hope Mean Girls has helped girls to be nicer to each other and not the other way around. Yeah, it’s really bizarre. I feel really lucky to have been a part of something that’s stuck around — even a little bit. That was never anything I imagined happening in life. It’s strange and surreal still,’ the actress responded.
She then went on to also talk about another iconic movie she was part of, also from 15 years ago.
Obviously, it’s The Notebook, in which she starred alongside her then-boyfriend, Ryan Gosling. Check out what she had to say!
