Rachel True, most famous for her role in the cult hit, The Craft, claims that racism is the reason she wasn’t invited to an event recently. According to True, every other star in the movie was given an invitation, including Neve Campbell, Fairuza Balk, and Robin Tunney, but she wasn’t.

According to a report from BET.com, after Rachel came out and complained of racism, the hosts of the event told her that she’s definitely not invited to the ceremony now. On Twitter, True explained her situation in detail.

A screenshot of the message said, “we’re going to pass on Rachel, this was totally uncalled for.” Rachel went on to say to a commenter who accused her of being self-absorbed that it wasn’t about “self-absorption,” it’s about “racism, parity, and money speaking up.”

Interestingly, Rachel True hasn’t been in many hits since The Craft came out in the 1990s. The 1996 movie has since garnered a significant cult following due to its dark themes which were quite different from the typical teen movies of that era.

The Craft was about four teenage girls who get into witchcraft for personal benefits and motivations. However, in each case, the girls suffer serious consequences for their desires and pay for their ill-gotten gains in a big way.

The movie features a classic scene where Robin Tunney casts a curse on a boy she likes, hoping that he falls in love with her, however, he becomes so infatuated that he tries to rape her.

In addition to The Craft, Rachel went on to star in other films in that era including Half-Baked, created and written by Dave Chappelle, as well as Nowhere and Half and Half. She also appeared in other series like Beverly Hills 90210, Getting By, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Dream On.

As for what she’s been up to lately, Rachel apparently is a tarot-card reader in Echo Park. Perhaps her starring role in The Craft led her down that path?
