Rapper T.I. Plans To Boycott Gucci & Prada After Blackface Scandal

Gucci found itself in hot water this week after they launched a ‘blackface’ mask. This was probably the worst idea especially considering how many people of color wear the brand and spend lots of cash on it.

T.I. is not having it, and he also saw Prada doing the same thing.

‘@gucci As a 7 figure/yr customer & longtime supporter of your brand I must say…Y’all GOT US fu*ked UP!!! APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!!!! We ain’t going for this “oops my bad I didn’t mean to be racist and disrespectful towards your people” shit!!! Y’all knew wtf y’all was doing and WE AINT GOING FOR IT!!! We ALL GOTTA Stop buying, wearing, and supporting this piece of sh*t company And ALL PIECE OF SH*T COMPANIES UNTIL THEY LEARN TO RESPECT OUR DOLLARS & VALUE OUR BUSINESS!!!!’ Tip began his angry caption of the Gucci post.

He continued and said that ‘Our culture RUNS THIS SH*T!!! We (People of color) spend $1.25 TRILLION/year (but are the least respected and the least included), and if we stop buying ANYTHING they MUST correct any and ALL of our concerns. That’s THE ONLY WAY we can get some RESPECT PUT ON OUR NAME!!!! I Don’t Give a Fu*k if I gotta wear Target brand shit…. #Fu*kGucci’

After that, he moves on to Prada and posted the following:

Someone commented ‘As a black clothing brand owner I too am guilty of patronizing Gucci. Even after recently having an issue in one of their retail stores where I was offered a beverage while shopping by my sales associate. But her mgr told her there was no wine available so we were offered bottles of water. BUT after we’d spent a couple of thousand dollars and got ready to exit the store, we noticed a white female sipping champagne as she looked through purses. 🤔 so yea, we complained and the next day were apologized to and given a bottle of champagne and bottles of perfume. Not enough but was sufficient at the time.’
