Reba McEntire Confirms Her Split From Boyfriend Anthony 'Skeeter' Lasuzzo

Country music legend Reba McEntire has revealed that she and her boyfriend of two years – retired oil geologist Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo – have called it quits. McEntire said in a new interview that she and Lasuzzo actually broke up in May, so they won’t be spending the holidays together.

McEntire told Us Weekly that she and Lasuzzo still talk and they are friends, but they decided to go their separate ways. According to an insider, McEntire’s “busy schedule and Skeeter’s way of life – he’s retired – just didn’t mesh very well.”

The couple met in August 2017 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming through mutual friend Kix Brooks of the country music duo Brooks & Dunn.

“Kix and Barbara Brooks thought it’d be a good idea, since we were gonna be up around Yellowstone, to get Kix’s best friend’s wife’s brother to show us around. He’s a photographer in Jackson Hole,” revealed McEntire last year. “I made another trip to Jackson Hole, because I just love it up there, and he asked me out for a date — just the two of us. And we’ve been dating ever since.”

Earlier this year – just weeks before their breakup – McEntire said that she and Lasuzzo were “totally in love,” and she added that she wouldn’t put up with somebody for two years if she wasn’t in love with them.

Lasuzzo has homes in both Wyoming and Texas, while McEntire lives in Nashville. The couple spent a lot of time together in all three places, and they also took frequent trips to New York to see a show and they traveled abroad to Iceland, Italy, and South Africa.

The 70-year-old escorted McEntire to the 2018 Grammys when she won for her gospel album Sing It Now. And, Lasuzzo was also with the 64-year-old singer last December when she received her Kennedy Center Honor.

Before her relationship with Lasuzzo, McEntire was married for 26 years to her former steel guitar player, Narvel Blackstock. They had one son together, Shelby, and McEntire was also the stepmom of Narvel’s three children, including son Brandon Blackstock who is married to Kelly Clarkson. Reba McEntire is still very close to all of her former stepchildren.
