This season, the ratings for Real Housewives of Atlanta have plummeted, and the numbers hit an all-time low late last month. Approximately 1.82 million viewers watched the December 16th episode, and a week later the total viewers for RHOA dropped to 1.65 million – the lowest number in years.
According to TV By the Numbers, last season RHOA averaged 2.25 million viewers per episode, so these latest ratings are a huge shocker. Now, many are wondering if Phaedra Parks and Kenya Moore could come back to the show and bring their fans with them.
“Kenya and Phaedra are loving knowing that they are missed on RHOA,” says an insider. “They’re aware that ratings are down this season, and both ladies feel that a huge reason is because of them. They know they really help make the show.”
The source went on to say that Parks believes that Kandi Burruss played a part in her firing, and Moore thinks that NeNe Leakes had a hand in hers. But, neither Burruss or Leakes feel that is true.
Moore also felt that she had a great storyline with her marriage and new baby, and Parks felt the same with her ex-husband Apollo Nida away in prison. So, they are feeling good knowing that they are missed, and a return is always possible.
There is no word yet from Bravo about possibly bringing back Phaedra or Kenya. But, if one or both of them does return, they would be sure to bring the drama.
Moore gave birth to her first child with husband Marc Daly on November 4th. The couple named their daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly, and Kenya has been sharing pics and updates with fans on social media. However, she has said in recent interviews that she has experienced a lot of stress with her baby, so she couldn’t see how she could have filmed RHOA.
She added that leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta broke her heart, but she doesn’t think she could have been “present” on the show while dealing with a high-risk pregnancy and then trying to take care of her daughter after she was born. Ultimately, Kenya Moore says that leaving RHOA was the best thing that could have happened for her daughter.
New episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta air Sunday nights on Bravo.
