RHOBH Erika Jayne Gets Dragged Into Her Husband's Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne has found herself in some legal trouble, and it’s all thanks to her husband Thomas Girardi. The lawyer took out some loans to fund his Los Angeles-based law firm, Girardi Keese, and he apparently has had some trouble paying them back. Now, Arizona lender Stillwell Madison has named Jayne as a defendant in their $3 million lawsuit against the firm, claiming that Girardi didn’t pay his bills because he was funding his wife’s lavish lifestyle.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Stillwell Madison says they loaned Girardi Keese $5,110,440.38 in 2016, and the agreement was that the firm would pay back the money with funds they generated from their caseload.

The lender required Girardi to submit regular financial statements and make his payments on time, but Stillwell Madison claims that didn’t happen. Instead, the company says Girardi “re-directed all or part of the proceeds, to which Stillwell was contractually entitled, to himself and his wife in order to sustain their lavish lifestyle and maintain their glamorous public image.”

When Girardi started skipping payments, the company agreed to a new arrangement where Girardi would make $500,000 payments from October 2018 to September 2019. However, Girardi never followed through, says Stillwell Madison, making it clear in their eyes that he never had any intention of paying back the loan balance.

The loan company says that they would have never approved the loan if they would have known Girardi intended to use the money he was supposed to pay them to support his “high-end lifestyle.”

Girardi currently has a past-due balance of $3,454,804, and Stillwell Madison is suing the Girardi Keese law firm – as well as Thomas and Erika – for the full balance plus interest and damages.

This is the second lawsuit Thomas and Erika have faced from lenders claiming they aren’t paying their bills, and instead are funding their “lavish lifestyle.” The court recently ordered Thomas to pay $6 million to Law Finance Group after he failed to back a $15 million loan in full.

“The truth of the matter is this. I have not taken one penny from the law firm in the past three years. I have devoted everything to assist in the cases that we have here. Further, the money that was borrowed, we agreed to repay in approximately two weeks before the lawsuit. It is slanderous that the money was for my ‘lifestyle’ … every penny went for costs in cases that the firm is handling,” says Thomas.

New episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will return to Bravo later this year, or in early 2020.
