The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has revealed her mom, Lois Rinna, had a near-fatal encounter with a famous serial killer.
On the most recent episode of the hit Bravo show, Rinna got candid about her mother’s terrifying experience with the Trailside Killer. The horrific man’s real name is David Carpenter, and back in the 1980s, he murdered several people in the San Francisco area.
Lois is one of Carpenter’s victims, but she is one of the lucky ones’ because despite her terrifying experience she is alive. Lisa described in detail what happened to her mom on the most recent episode of RHOBH.

“A few years before I was born my mom was attacked by a man that she worked with. He picked her up at the bus stop and then all of sudden he started to drive her down this really deserted road. He tried to rape her. He tried to kill her,” Rinna began.
The former Days of Our Lives alum, went on to explain the only reason her mother is alive today and Lisa was born is thanks to a military policeman.
“Luckily, a military policeman had seen them drive down this deserted road, and he knew no one was supposed to be down there, and he followed them down. My mom was saved that day by that military policeman,” Harry Hamlin’s wife explained.
However, before being saved Lois suffered severe physical and mental trauma at the hands of Carpenter.
“I thought that was it. He’s straddling me. He had a hammer in one hand and a knife in another,” Lois shared on the Bravo show.

Lois Rinna was believed to be the first victim of the Trailside Killer, and if the military police had not noticed the car in the wrong area, she would not be alive today. Carpenter was sent to prison for his actions against Lois. Once he got out though, he went on a mad killing spree. He killed seven people in the Bay Area.
In 1984, Carpenter was finally caught when he attempted to kill an eighth person. The victim survived and identified Carpenter as the assailant. He was sentenced to death. He sits on death row today in San Quentin State Prison.
Lisa Rinna’s mother, Lois Rinna, shared her terrifying story of how she had a near-fatal encounter with the Trailside Serial Killer. It is an emotional story and Loi deserves some mad props for sharing it on reality TV.
