RHOBH Lisa Vanderpump Opens Up About The Heartbreak Of Losing Her Only Brother

On the Season 9 premiere of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa Vanderpump broke down in tears while talking about her brother Mark’s shocking death.

“I was never prepared for this,” cried Vanderpump while talking to her co-stars Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp. The restaurateur also revealed that she has felt depressed since Mark’ suicide, and she hasn’t “been doing very well.” They filmed the premiere three months after his death.

Mark Vanderpump was a prominent DJ and LVP’s only sibling, who she called her “partner in crime.” He was found unresponsive in his home in Gloucestershire, England on April 30, 2018, and he died in the hospital the next day. He was 59 years old, and the cause of death was a suspected drug overdose.

According to People Magazine, the coroner classified his death as a suicide because Mark sent text messages saying goodbye, and he also took pictures of the pills he took. She added that Mark had made a previous suicide attempt, and police found a blue rope tied in a noose and a ladder in his car.

The SUR owner said that she knew her brother well enough to know that Mark never meant to kill himself, and instead, “it was a cry for help that went terribly wrong.”

Lisa added that a lot of people say taking a life is selfish, but she has never felt that.

The premiere also touched on the drama between the SUR owner and co-star Dorit Kemsley that has been circling the rumor mill for months. After Kemsley adopted a dog from Vanderpump Dogs, it ended up in a shelter after an incident with Kemsley’s kids.

LVP made it clear to Kemsley that she had violated the adoption contract, which says that all dogs should go back to the dog center, not a shelter. And, Vanderpump also revealed that Mellencamp – Kemsley’s nemesis – had heard about what went down.

“I don’t want any private matter being brought up and discussed with anyone, especially with Teddi,” Kemsley said.

RHOBH fans also got their first look at newbie Denise Richards during a pool party at Kyle’s new house. Everybody appeared to get along fine until Mellencamp awkwardly joked “Winning!” – Denise’s ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s famous catchphrase.

Erika Jayne laughed at the joke, but Lisa Rinna told Mellencamp, “Don’t say that!”

Bravo aired a sneak peek of what is to come in later episodes, and fans saw a preview of the falling out between former BFFs, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump.
