Earlier this summer, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Lisa Vanderpump announced that she would not return to the show after starring on the popular Bravo series for nine seasons, and she also decided to skip the reunion. LVP has called this last year the worst one of her life after she lost her brother to a suspected drug overdose and found her co-stars ganging up on her during the #Puppygate scandal. But, did Vanderpump know years ago that Kyle Richards was trying to take her down?
During Season 9, Vanderpump’s co-stars believed that she leaked the #Puppygate story to the media to take hurt Dorit Kemsley’s reputation, and one of the things that led them to this conclusion was the use of the English word “creature” that appeared in the Radar Online story.

However, Richards recently used that exact word in an Instagram post, and it caught Vanderpump’s attention.
“Perfect way to start off the week with this beautiful creature #fable thank you @littlehorseontheprairie we are in love,” Richards wrote in the caption of her post.
Vanderpump immediately called out Richards for using the word, asking “who says that lol?” She then added that she thought the word was an English term because that’s what everyone had told her.
The SUR restaurant owner then tweeted to fans that it was onwards and upwards now that the worst year of her life was finally over, and she added that her former co-star Joyce Giraud told her four years ago that Richards was trying to take her down.
Fans immediately started asking questions, wondering if Richards had asked Giraud during Season 4 if she would go up against LVP with her. Vanderpump cleared things up by writing, “Looove Joyce, yes she told me that. Let’s take LVP down. That was the order.”
The theory that Richards leaked the story instead of Vanderpump makes more sense. Kemsley definitely doesn’t need any help when it comes to bad press, she can do that all on her own. If #Puppygate wouldn’t have been a thing during Season 9, chances are Kemsley’s storyline would have been all about her and husband PK’s financial troubles.
It was also Richards who confronted Vanderpump about the leak, and that is what brought their longtime friendship to an end. If it was Richards’ plan to take LVP down, she didn’t succeed, but she did get her off the show.

Executive producer Andy Cohen says that there is still a chance that Vanderpump could return at some point, but it won’t be anytime soon.
“I mean, look, NeNe [Leakes] left Atlanta for a bit. Bethenny [Frankel] left New York for a bit. You know, people come and go and hopefully…You know, they both came back,” said Cohen.
The cast of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – which Cohen says will feature a newbie – will start shooting Season 10 later this summer.
