RHOBH Star Denise Richards Gets Real About Raising Daughter Eloise Who Has Special Needs

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards is getting candid about what it is like to raise daughter Eloise, who she shared has special needs. In a recent interview with People, Richards got real about the rare chromosome disorder that has caused several developmental issues for her youngest child.

“A chromosomal disorder has caused a lot of developmental delays for Eloise. She wasn’t able to sit up on her own for a very long time, and she didn’t start walking until she was 2, and that was with physical therapy,” revealed the reality TV star.

The mother of three went on to explain that the little girl was diagnosed with a deletion in chromosome 8 about two and half years ago. Eloise can only say a handful of words, despite her ago. Richards shared that at times she feels her daughter is emotionally the same as other children her age, but then she can quickly revert to being at the emotional level of a 3-year-old. It is a constant challenge for both mother and daughter.

Not only is each day different for the RHOBH star and her family but she also knows each child with special needs is unique. Despite the challenges of raising Eloise, there is nothing in the world that Richards would not do for her or daughters, Sam and Lola. She made it clear to the magazine it is a parent’s duty and privilege to take care of their children, regardless of the situation.

As for Eloise, her mother merely wants what is best for her child, which means that Richards is continually learning. There is no specific road map or even guidance for cases like her daughter’s because it is such a rare case.

“You take care of your children no matter what is going on with them. I don’t know if Eloise is ever going to talk like a typical child. But as a parent, you want what’s best for your children, and you just do it,” shared Richards.

Denise Richards is not shy about showing her love for all of her children on social media. Despite no longer being a single mother, she married Aaron Phypers last fall, her number one priority is still her girls.
