Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley is setting the record straight about #puppygate. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kemsley said that Lisa Vanderpump knew that Lucy was going to another home before it happened, and the dog did not end up in a kill shelter.
Kemsley also went into more detail about the dog drama in a recent Bravo blog post.
I’m 90% team @erikajayne but she’s wrong about the magnitude of what @doritkemsley1 had done. I don’t care if Dorit didn’t intend on the dog going to a shelter. Everyone who adopts a dog knows the right move is to return the dog to the original organization. #TeamLVP#RHOBH

“I feel sick to my stomach hearing Lisa V say in her interview that Lucy ended up in a kill shelter. It was confirmed to Lisa V and I both that it was NOT a kill shelter, that Lucy was never in danger nor brought to a kill shelter, and yet she and her team are relentless in trying to inflate the story. Lucy was at the shelter for an hour before the shelter contacted Vanderpump Dogs,” Kemsley explained.
Kemsley also believes that Vanderpump is trying to appear innocent while making her look like a horrible person, and LVP’s “poison-laced comments” are part of a setup. No matter what Vanderpump’s intentions might be, Kemsley says that the restaurateur is faking forgiveness to appear innocent while “stirring a big pot of passive aggressiveness” that emerge as “snarky jabs.”
She says that LVP makes jokes at the expense of others. And, even though she thinks she is being funny, her comments are off-putting and unnecessary.
Even though we are still in the early part of Season 9, it’s already obvious to fans that there is a huge divide growing between Vanderpump and the rest of the cast. LVP was already grieving over her brother’s unexpected death, and the dog drama just made things worse.

Towards the end of shooting for the current season, Vanderpump was basically MIA. And now, she isn’t really friends with anyone in the cast – not even with former bestie Kyle Richards.
At the Season 9 premiere party in early February, the ladies said they weren’t surprised that Vanderpump actually showed up even though they hadn’t spoken to her for a while. Kemsley said that the lack of communication has made it “a good few months,” but Teddi Mellencamp said that she would be happy to have a conversation with Vanderpump because she is an adult.
Erika Girardi said that she had zero feelings about the Lisa Vanderpump situation because “that’s what she chose.”
New episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
