During the most recent episode of the Real Housewives of Dallas, fans witnessed LeeAnne Locken continue her feud with D’Andra Simmons by calling her “the great and almighty fat cow” during her bachelorette party – and she didn’t even say it to her face. Simmons didn’t score an invite to the party, but Locken couldn’t stop talking about her frenemy. And, after watching the episode, Simmons took to Instagram to respond.
Locken started talking trash about Simmons after newbie Kary Brittingham asked her why Simmons wasn’t there. At the time, the RHOD ladies thought that Simmons and Locken were starting to mend their broken friendship, but Locken made it clear that wasn’t the case.

After watching the cringeworthy moment, Simmons wrote a lengthy post on Instagram that started with a quote from Harry Potter author JK Rowling – “Is ‘fat’ really the worst thing a human being can be? Is ‘fat’ worse than ‘vindictive’, ‘jealous’, ‘shallow’, ‘vain’, ‘boring’ or ‘cruel’ Not to me.”
Simmons continued with her own thoughts on the matter, explaining that in the last decade courageous public figures have outed body shaming, and she finds the practice shameful, hateful, and discriminatory. Simmons called body shaming the “basest form of bullying,” and when someone makes a statement about a person’s weight, it says nothing about the person the comments are being directed toward. Instead, the nasty comments say everything about the person who is “spewing this hurtful and disgusting narrative.”
Simmons has been open about her recent 25-pound weight gain, and she also revealed that she had a facelift. But, for her, weight or size doesn’t define a person. Instead, character – plain and simple without pretense – is what defines a human being.

The Dallas socialite finished her post by writing that she has learned that you must love yourself and embrace your body for what it is, and she hopes that the recent RHOD episode will help renew the commitment to support each other instead of scrutinize each other.
However, D’Andra Simmons says that if appearance is the only thing that defines you, then you have a lot more to learn about life than she can write in an Instagram post.
New episodes of Real Housewives of Dallas air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
