Talk about denial. Joe Giudice is on the verge of being deported back to his home country of Italy, but Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is convinced that he’s coming home after his prison sentence is over.
On this week’s episode of RHONJ, Teresa opened up about her husband’s looming deportation after she visited Joe in prison. Instead of lamenting his absence, the reality star told Danielle Staub that she’s looking forward to his homecoming.

“Yeah we talk about what he wants to do when he gets out, everything,” Teresa told her. “The closer it gets to Joe getting out all I think about is soon he will be home.”
According to In Touch Weekly, Teresa then confessed that she does not like to talk about the deportation because it is a negative subject. It is completely understandably that Teresa is staying optimistic ahead of her husband’s deportation, but unless the courts move quickly, the chances of him coming home are slim.
Joe and Teresa were found guilty of fraud in the summer of 2013. Teresa already finished her 11-month stint behind bars and Joe is currently serving out his 41-month sentence. Back in October, a judge ordered for Joe to be deported as soon as he gets out of prison – and he’s been fighting it ever since.
Joe appealed the ruling in November but failed to change the judge’s mind. Unless a future appeal is successful, Joe will be deported as soon as he gets out.

Teresa and Joe share four children together: Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana. Although Joe is an Italian citizen, he has been in the United States since he was a small child and would be completely lost in Italy. For Teresa and her children’s sake, we can only that the deportation order is lifted soon, and Joe can return home after he serves his time.
Teresa Giudice has not commented on why she is in denial about Joe’s deportation.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of New Jersey air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
