Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is still waiting to find out her husband Joe’s fate in his deportation fight, but she was all smiles when she hosted the recent New York Summer Fashion Explosion. Teresa wore a black, low-cut dress and sweet high heels, and showed off her ripped body, making it clear that she has been spending some serious time in the gym.

Teresa worked the stage while she performed her hosting duties, and she also posed for pics during the event that is held for emerging designers in the fashion industry.

Despite her personal drama, Teresa continues to enjoy life while her husband remains locked up in an ICE detention center in Pennsylvania. She admitted during the Season 9 RHONJ reunion earlier this year that she and Joe would divorce if he is deported to his native Italy.

“I’m not doing a long-distance relationship. I’m not doing it. I want somebody with me every day,” Teresa told Andy Cohen.

Joe is still waiting to find out if the US government will actually deport him. An immigration judge ruled in favor of deportation last October. However, Joe appealed that decision, and the courts have allowed him to remain in the United States while he awaits the final ruling. Joe finished his prison sentence in March, but the federal Bureau of Prisons transferred him to the ICE facility instead of allowing him to go home.

According to Radar Online, the US Attorney General has argued in favor of Joe’s immediate deportation. He moved to the States when he was a toddler, but never obtained his US citizenship. After he pled guilty to bankruptcy fraud, his future in the United States became unclear.

The federal government does have the right to deport immigrants when they commit a crime. However, it isn’t mandatory.

Joe recently requested the Third Circuit Court for a one-month extension to file his opening brief. The original deadline was June 12th, but he asked for a July 15th deadline.

Teresa says that Joe is already missing out on so much in their daughters’ lives, and if he is deported, he will miss birthdays and graduations. She says no child should have to go through what her daughters are dealing with.

“When you’re a mom and your children are hurting, it just kills you so much,” Teresa Giudice said. “If I could take any of this pain away from them I wish I could.”
