Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel may have had a difficult time getting over Dennis Shields’ tragic death last year, but she still allowed Bravo cameras to film her throughout the grieving process – and Shields’ friends are not happy about it.

In the newest trailer for the upcoming season, Frankel is shown talking about Shields’ death and breaking down in front of her co-stars. An insider claims that Shields’ pals are mortified at the thought of Frankel openly discussing his death on RHONY and cannot believe the lengths she will go to for extra attention.

“Will Bethenny stop at anything just to be a little bit more famous?” an insider shared. “A man is dead, and his wife and children are still mourning the death of a husband and a father.”

The source told Radar Online that Frankel should be ashamed of what she has done. Friends are worried that Frankel’s behavior will re-open old wounds and prevent the family from properly mourning Shields’ passing.

The source noted that the Shields family is grateful that Frankel did not allow Bravo to film the funeral. As fans will recall, Frankel showed up at the funeral for Jill Zarin’s husband, Bobby Zarin, with a full camera crew. Even still, the reality star managed to make Bobby’s funeral a major story on the show.

Based on the trailer, Frankel is looking to do the same with Shields’ untimely passing. Here’s to hoping that Frankel doesn’t take things too far and that the trailer exaggerates how much she talks about his death this season.

Shields reportedly accidentally overdosed in his New York City apartment last August. Since his tragic death, Frankel has been sharing tributes of Shields on social media, allowing fans an inside look at her grief. The RHONY star is also dating a new man in Paul Bernon and appears to have completely moved on with her life.

Bethenny Frankel has not responded to the criticism from Shields’ family.
