RHONY Star Bethenny Frankel Reveals Dennis Shields Wanted To Marry Her Before His Shocking Death

Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her former boyfriend, Dennis Shield’s, tragic death. On the Season 11 premiere of the Real Housewives of New York, Frankel read a letter she penned Shields following his passing and revealed that he wanted to marry her before his sudden death.

In an emotional scene, Frankel revealed that Shields’ daughter, Tyler, called her the day after he passed away. The RHONY star then showed her co-stars the series of texts she and Tyler sent to Shields after his death. When she read a letter she wrote Shields a few weeks later, she couldn’t help but break down in tears.

“Like, I just wrote him a letter which was like, ‘I love you, Dennis, and I always will,” Frankel shared. “You’re the most loving, beautiful man in the whole world, and I’m sorry you’re in so much pain.”

According to Radar Online, Shields died from a reported overdose inside his apartment in New York City last August. Frankel has openly discussed her grieving process and appeared at Shields’ funeral with several RHONY cast members.

At the time, sources claimed that several of Shields’ friends were angry with Frankel for using his death as a selling point for the show.

Despite the criticism, Frankel was not afraid to open up about her ex-boyfriend’s passing on the show. Based on the emotional premiere, that will likely continue for most of the season.

In fact, Frankel upped the drama when she revealed that Shields wanted to marry her prior to his death, something that Frankel is trying to move past now that he is gone.

Frankel, of course, has moved on and found herself a new romance. The reality star is currently dating Paul Bernon, and their relationship appears to be going strong. Bernon even appeared in support of Frankel during her latest custody hearing with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.

Bethenny Frankel is looking to win primary custody of their daughter in what has turned into a nasty legal battle.
